Dr. Lau completed her undergraduate medical degree from the University of Dundee, United Kingdom (UK) in 2005 with a distinction in her final year viva examination. She was trained in general medicine and obtained her postgraduate degree MRCP (UK) from the Royal College of Physicians in 2008. In 2009, she was awarded the Diploma in Dermatology by the Royal College of Physicians of Glasgow and started her specialty training in dermatology. Upon successful completion of her training, she was awarded the Certificate of Completion of Training and MRCP (Dermatology) by the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board, UK. In Australia, she successfully underwent the rigorous specialist recognition interview and was awarded Fellowship with The Australasian College of Dermatologists.
Dr. Lau has received various travel awards and presentation awards:
- Awarded the Scottish Dermatological Society Fellowship to attend the European Society of Dermatological Research 42nd Annual Meeting (Venice)
- Awarded the British Association of Dermatology Fellowship to attend the American Academy of Dermatology 71st Annual Meeting (Miami)
- Awarded best presenter at the Scottish Dermatology Society 43rd Annual Meeting (Inverness, UK)
- Awarded the British Medical Laser Association grant to attend Euro-PDT May 2013 meeting (Manchester, UK)
Dr. Lau has published in various topics including skin cancer, allergic contact dermatitis, photodynamic therapy and dermatological surgery.
She is a general dermatologist with a special interest in skin surgery, skin cancer, hair and female genital skin disorders and is happy to accept all referrals for skin disease and skin cancer surveillance and treatment.
